"Let not your heart be troubled"...  These words were sketched in the minds of the first disciples. So often the repeated and preached them, and prayed them, because the disciples believed His promise. Today some religious leaders are asking, "Where is the promise of his coming?"

More than two millenniums have past, is the promise obsolete?

Peter the quintessential apostle knew there would be questions about the promise so he encourages us in his letter.

“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”  ‭‭II Peter‬ ‭3:8-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Don't be troubled in your heart because of time, tribulations, terrifying events, are personal trauma. The LORD is longsuffering toward us!

This is a good place to shout Hallelujah!

The LORD is waiting on us. We are incompetent, indifference and  insubordinate but the LORD is longsuffering toward us. The promise is good, the Christian are trifling. Peter has an urgent text.

“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?”  ‭‭II Peter‬ ‭3:8-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So regardless of life's experiences "Let not you heart be troubled " Keep watching and working and worshiping and witnessing!  HE is coming. Amen. "Even so, come Lord Jesus".
